Sea Shepherd has been patrolling the seas for years now. They are fighting the war against ocean abuse. Their campaigns include missions to save the whales, the reefs and to curb fish harvesting amongst many other things.
It has been brought to the attention of a lot of environmental activists that the large reef along the beautiful Kona Coast is being damaged and is dying at a rapid rate and the fish who inhabit this reef are disappearing due to a high demand for aquarium fish.
Sea Shepherd has a campaign called Operation Reef Defense in an effort to save these ecosystems. However, their efforts have been recently scrutinized and have even earned them the title of "sea pirates."
A story broke last week about a diver caught harvesting fish from the Kona Reef by a Sea Shepherd member armed with only a camera, but caused quite the stir.

In my opinion Sea Shepherd is being brought into question because these companies know they are in the wrong and are trying to turn it around on a group whose only goal is to keep the ocean alive and thriving. I applaud you Sea Shepherd, sometimes the most dangerous weapon is a camera. And we do not want these beautiful creatures becoming extinct now do we?
