Let us introduce you to our DC Grand Prize contest winners!
First up, we have Evan and Caren. So, I first met these guys at the Pre-opening of our Glendale location last October. Evan approached me and had no idea we were opening in Denver and was ecstatic. I told him we were actually opening in a week and that we were currently having a private event. However based on his level of enthusiasm and us having some open spots, I let him into the party.
Fast forward a year later to a video contest and them submitting the best, Native Foods rendition of “Shake it Off” from Taylor Swift.
As if that wasn’t great enough we had another video submitted from Orange County from a father daughter duo and their take on the Ice Bucket Challenge. Todd and daughter Harley wanted a video to go Native Foods viral and they got our attention with the "Frozen Vegetable Challenge."
Both of these award winning performances can be seen on our Facebook page. Click here to watch!
Needless to say it was impossible to just choose one winner so both were invited to join us in DC for our first east coast restaurant. When I called Evan he was like we won?! And are you the Kelly…Kelly? I said yep! And a full circle Native Opening VIP Party was born.
The winners arrived in DC on Friday evening and were treated to an “After Dark Adventure” where they got to experience all the incredible sites of DC lit up at night. Unfortunately due to some circumstance with air travel that weekend, Evan and Caren were unable to make it to the adventure and instead met us at Native Foods for a dinner.
Saturday the winners joined us for our last night of pre-opening fun! They met each other for the first time and by the end of the night were practically best friends. It was so much fun getting to know them all!
Todd, Danielle and Harley all the way from Orange County...making Native Foods a truly bi-coastal destination!
